The UK has the largest wind resource of any country in Europe, making it the ideal choice for a renewable source of energy. It is estimated that small scale wind generation – together with other forms of microgeneration – could provide 30-40% of all the UK’s electricity needs by 2050.

Quiet Revolution Ltd develops and supplies elegant renewable energy solutions, especially small wind products optimised for use at the point of energy demand.

Quiet Revolution's goal is to promote and enable wind energy as a key technology to renewable and distributed energy generation and microgeneration.

Their products demonstrate that efficiency can be combined with elegance, and that the natural resource of the wind can be used cost-effectively, cleanly and quietly to provide a long term source of energy for both our own and future generations.

The quietrevolution (QR) was designed in response to increasing demand for wind turbines that work well in the urban environment, where wind speeds are lower and wind directions change frequently.

The elegant helical (twisted) design of QR ensures a robust performance even in turbulent winds. It is also responsible for virtually eliminating noise and vibration.

At five metres high and three metres in diameter, it is compact and easy to integrate, and with just one moving part, maintenance can be limited to an annual inspection.

The energy output will vary according to the windspeed but is likely to be between 4,000 and 10,000 kWhrs per year on a typical site.

According to the government building regulations, distributed generation in the UK will reduce CO2 emmisions by 0.568kg of CO2 per kWh.

Clients include major retailers, developers, government departments, schools and universities.
